In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the Rivers Whales Teqball team has secured a spot in the Mixed Doubles final of the 2024 Teqball Championship World Qualifier at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, Abia State.
On Day Three of the competition, the duo of Efosa Austin Obosa and Gladys Abasi defeated their opponents from Ondo State 2-0 in the semifinals, paving the way for a thrilling final showdown against Funsho Samson and Teqer Rashidat Bukola Salal of Abia State. Notably, Rashidat Bukola is the current Mixed Doubles number one in Africa.
Meanwhile, Team Rivers' Ibinabo Alex Georgewill and Gladys Abasi will compete in the Women's Doubles event on Saturday, aiming to secure another final berth for the team. Rivers Whales are participating in all five categories of the competition, showcasing their versatility and prowess in the sport.
