Nigerian Olympic Committee Announces Flag Bearer and Team Captain for Paris 2024 Olympics

The Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) has made two significant announcements ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics. Tobi Amusan, a world-class athlete and record holder in the 100m hurdles, has been selected as Nigeria's flagbearer for the opening ceremony. This distinction marks a historic milestone, as Amusan becomes the first athletics representative to receive this honor in 20 years, following in the footsteps of Mary Onyali, who held the position at the Athens 2004 Games.
In a separate announcement, the NOC has appointed Anuoluwapo Opeyori, a seasoned badminton player, as the General Team Captain for Nigeria's contingent at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Opeyori's experience and leadership qualities make him an ideal candidate for this role, and his appointment is expected to inspire and motivate the Nigerian team.
These appointments underscore the NOC's commitment to recognizing and empowering exceptional athletes who will proudly represent Nigeria on the global stage. As the Paris 2024 Olympics approach, these selections are a testament to the country's rich sporting talent and its potential for success in the upcoming Games.
