The stadium had been without hosting football matches since December 2024 due to the poor state of the playing surface. However, with the intervention of Evangelist Michael Diden and now Mr. Elvis Ewruje's donation, the stadium is poised to return to its former glory. Mr. Ewruje, CEO of De Sapele Lions FC, expressed his joy in giving back to the community and hoped that this gesture would bring back top-level football to Sapele.

The presentation of the motorized lawn mower was done in a brief but colorful ceremony at the Sapele Township Stadium. Mr. Ewruje was represented by the team manager of De Sapele Lions FC, Mr. Biri Ovoke, and Coach Mayor Precious. "I am excited because I have the privilege and opportunity to build upon what our very own Evangelist Michael Diden (Aka Ejele) had done," Mr. Ewruje stated. "The pitch is in great condition and must be properly maintained, so I decided to donate this motorized lawn mower for that purpose."

The stadium management, led by the Assistant Director Mrs. Evelyn Ofoghoro thanked Mr. Ewruje for his kind gesture and urged him to continue his good work. This donation is not Mr. Ewruje's first contribution to football development in Delta State, as you recall, he recently donated N500,000 to Warri Wolves FC which was received by the club through Coach Napoleon Aluma during the NNL Super 8 hosted in Delta State.

The presentation ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Mr. David Egho, representing the Sapele Referee Council, Assistant Director of the Stadium Mrs. Evelyn Ofoghoro, Stadium Manager Mr. Akpome Jekpoghene, De Sapele Lions FC Team Manager Mr. Biri Ovoke, Coach Mayor Precious, Mr Ogunbor (CEO Ogunbor FC), Mr. David Edewor Ofam, Mr. David Kalu, and EXCO members of Sapele All Stars.
