PORT HARCOURT, Rivers State – The Rivers State Football Association has officially confirmed the date for the Capacity Building Seminar and Official Draws for the 4th Edition of the Rivers State KEVES Global Football Competition.
In a statement signed by the Secretary, Rivers State FA, Mr. Omiete Edwin Tamuno, the Association said the event will take place on Tuesday, 14th July, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the FA Office, NUJ Building, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
Mr. Tamuno stated that the capacity building seminar is specifically designed to update team officials, coaches, and managers with the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game. He noted that the session will ensure all participating clubs are aligned with current technical and disciplinary standards ahead of kick-off.
Immediately after the seminar, the official draws will be conducted to determine fixtures and groupings for the tournament. All team representatives have been directed to arrive for accreditation by 10:45 a.m.
A total of 40 teams have been confirmed for this year’s edition. The competition will feature 32 teams in the Amateur Category and 8 teams in the All-Stars 40+ Category, reflecting the tournament’s expanding footprint across Rivers State.
The Association further confirmed that Sharks Stadium will host all matches for the 4th edition, providing a professional and centralized venue for players, officials, and spectators throughout the competition.
Organisers have also unveiled a total prize fund of ₦7,000,000 to be shared between both categories.
Amateur Category:
1st Place: ₦2,000,000 | 2nd Place: ₦1,400,000 | 3rd Place: ₦1,000,000
All-Stars 40+ Category:
1st Place: ₦1,000,000 | 2nd Place: ₦600,000 | 3rd Place: ₦400,000
Since its inception, the KEVES Global Football Competition has continued to serve as a key grassroots football platform in Rivers State, creating opportunities for emerging talents and veteran players in the All-Stars cadre.
