Ughelli, Delta State - The Ughelli North Football Council, organizers of the 2024 Delta U-8 Kids Cup Tournament, has announced November 30th to December 3rd as the kickoff dates for the highly anticipated event.
The tournament, held in partnership with Super Eagles and FC Arabi of Kuwait winger Emmanuel Anayo Iwuala, has received the backing of the Delta State Football Association. Eight teams will be divided into two groups of four, competing for semifinal spots.
Chairman of the Ughelli North Football Council, Mr. Onome Ikrechero Johnbull, revealed the kickoff date on Thursday in Ughelli. He emphasized that the tournament's objective extends beyond talent identification to nurturing young players' development.
"The focus is not just on discovering talents but also on initiating the process of following up on the development of these young lads," Mr. Johnbull stated.
He commended Nigeria international Emmanuel Anayo Iwuala for partnering with the Council on this initiative. "We appreciate Emmanuel's commitment to giving back to his roots."
The tournament draw will take place later Thursday in Ughelli, Delta State.

All matches will be held at the Ughelli Township Stadium.
