The Ughelli North Football Association, in partnership with Myron Top Class Sports Outfit, is proud to announce the launch of the "Catch Them Young" program, a grassroots football initiative aimed at developing young talent in the region. The program will kick off with the U-10 Cup tournament, scheduled to take place from September 28th to October 1st, 2024, at the Ughelli Stadium and Ogor Technical College football field.
Tournament Details
The U-10 Cup tournament promises to be an exciting competition, with cash prizes for the top three teams. The winners will receive a trophy, gold medals, and a cash prize, while the second and third positions will receive silver medals and cash prizes. Individual awards will also be given to outstanding players.
Objectives and Rationale
According to Mr. Eddie Iseri Ogbemudia, CEO of Myron Top Class Sports Outfit, "The 'Catch Them Young' program is designed to identify and develop young talent in the region, providing them with a platform to showcase their skills and potentially launch their football careers." Mr. Onome Ikrechero Johnbull, Chairman of Ughelli North Football Association, added, "By focusing on the Under 10 category, we aim to instill a love for the game and develop fundamental skills in young players, setting them up for success in the sport."
Registration and Participation
Teams interested in participating in the tournament are encouraged to register before September 1st, 2024. The tournament draws will be held at the FA office inside the Ughelli township Stadium on September 1st at 11 am.
