The Rivers State Football Association has announced a new date for the draws of the Governor Siminalayi Fubara Cup, also known as the Simplified Cup. The event, originally scheduled for an earlier date, will now take place on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 12 noon.
The draws will be held at the FA office, located in the NUJ Building on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt. According to the Secretary of the Rivers State FA, the event will commence with a seminar, setting the stage for the highly anticipated draws.
A total of 23 teams, each representing one of the Local Government Areas of Rivers State, are expected to participate in the competition. The Governor Siminalayi Fubara Cup aims to promote grassroots football development and foster a sense of community among the various local government areas.
All stakeholders and team representatives are invited to attend the draws and seminar, marking the official kickoff of the Simplified Cup. Further details and updates will be provided in due course.
