Excellent Football Academy of Ughelli, Delta State, is set to participate in the Onos Oborevwori Youth Together U-17 Football Tournament, in partnership with OPO Sports Management. The tournament, scheduled for August 30-31, 2024, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, aims to identify talented young players.
The program will be attended by esteemed guests, including U-17 Nigeria male National team Coach Manu Garba and other coordinators as scouting intensifies for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations U-17 in Ivory Coast.
Excellent football academy's CEO, Mr. Onome, expressed optimism about the opportunity, stating that a maximum of 16 players from each team are expected to participate.
"We are looking forward to this opportunity as our lads will be able to showcase their talent and also we will be able to assess what we are doing as an academy. Hopefully, we will have some of our players scouted," said Mr. Onome.
The two-day event provides a platform for young footballers to showcase their skills and potentially get selected for the national team. With the academy's focus on nurturing talent, this scouting program presents an excellent chance for its players to shine and take their careers to the next level.
