Nigeria’s representatives on the continent now know their opponents after the draws for the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup preliminary draws were done in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.
Nigerian champions, Remo Stars will face US Zilimadjou of Comoros while Rivers United will play against RDC 1 of Congo. The Sky Blue Stars will face Zilimadjou in the first leg during the weekend of September 19-21 while Rivers United away on the same weekend.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, President Federation Cup champions, Kwara United will battle Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in the first leg, the winner of the fixture will face Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.
Debutants, Abia Warriors have been handed a tricky draw against Djoliba of Mali and they will face either USFA or Togo’s AS Gboloe-su in the second round.
The first leg of the first preliminary round comes up in the weekend of 19-21 September while the second leg comes up on the weekend of 26-28 September, 2025.
The second preliminary round will be played within 17-19 October while the second leg comes up from 24-26 October 2025
