The Nigerian football community is in mourning following the passing of former Super Eagles star, Henry Nwosu (MON), who left an indelible mark on the sport in Nigeria. The NLO Progressive Club Chairmen have expressed their profound sadness at the loss of the legendary footballer, describing him as a "true titan of Nigerian football" and a "pioneer who defined an era of excellence on the pitch."
Henry Nwosu's remarkable career was marked by numerous achievements, including being the youngest player to win the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 1980 at the age of 17. He was known for his exceptional technical ability, vision, and flair, earning 60 caps for the Super Eagles and representing Nigeria in two Olympic Games - 1980 and 1988.
Throughout his playing career, Nwosu starred for prominent clubs such as New Nigeria Bank (NNB) and ACB Lagos, showcasing the best of Nigerian football. After retiring from active football, he transitioned into coaching, dedicating himself to nurturing the next generation of Nigerian football talent.
The NLO Progressive Club Chairmen have extended their heartfelt condolences to the Nwosu family, praying that they find strength in this difficult time and that the late football legend finds eternal rest.
